It's been 178 days since the happening of the best ever thing in my life..If I could write my biography I would split it as BS and AS ..Before Samvrutha and After Samvrutha, yeah Samvrutha- the light of my life.
It all started with a much anticipated experiment with the Prega test kit and with those cute pink double lines appearing, I couldn't believe it for real and the happiness that I shared with my Husband is boundless.
To ensure if this is all real, I went purchased about 4 or 5 kits and kept checking the next two days :)
The news was then announced to the family and the celebration kick-started with people suggesting names to school suggestions and the regular sweet exchange .All this was over in a few weeks and the rest of the journey was mostly doctor visits and me shuttling between my Parents house and my Husbandz house.
In between, there was so much stress that was building in me which I seriously don't know why and I accepted it by convincing it as the famous PREGNANCY STRESS.
N number of fights with my husband and totally mind bogged. For some reason the stupid thought that am gonna die during labour was looming in me 😬 I know it sounds stupid as it does.. There was Soo much pessimism.. One of my friend Maithreyi suggested Utsav to get some insights on this journey.. Attended the class with my Husband and Mom.
The sessions were enriched with Soo much knowledge and engrossing.. Amba dint let us drowse with her never boring sense of humor.
She gave us the confidence that Labour is not all that deathly painful as portrayed in movies.
I went through the Labour videos with my husband and indeed was puzzled that those ladies could deliver a human baby like a piece of cake through mere breathing techniques. That was the one thing that helped me survive the Labour :).
Knowledge on Breastfeeding was shared in the class which helped me immensely in my Breast feeding journey.. Exactly as she said , relatives buzzed around and started judging my milk quantity and I just shrugged them off by imaging her ball analogy where she explained how small a new bornz tummy is and just how sufficient the milk is required.
Latching too was able to manage due to the knowledge shared in class.
Towards my 7th month I changed the hospital and to my shock I was diagnosed with Pregnancy sugar, my previous Hospital missed to diagnose though sugar tests were taken.
Things turned very hard. My water level reduced as well. I had to visit the hospital almost every day. Sugar level could not be kept under control and with just 2 months to go, it was too hard and stressful.
I was administered insulin shots in my 8 th month and still Sugar level was random.
The team of doctors and Nurses at Anuradha Maternity centre were Soo caring and concerned especially Dr Anita Parthasarathy and Dr Shashikala. They were literally monitoring my Sugar level round the clock. I was asked to send Sugar readings 3 times a day and in case of any irregularity they immediately call me for check up.
Due to high sugar they planned for early delivery and I was asked to be very careful till my 37th week. The moment I crossed my 36th week, I got severe rashes starting from my belly it transversed above all over my chest and beneath till my ankle. It was called Pupps and that was it .It was the final shot and was like hitting the rock bottom.. It was burning all over and doc said there is no medication and I have to bear.. I used to bath 5 times a day and locked myself inside the room and kept ice all over my body. I just cried and prayed it should all end soon..
On April 15th 2019 I went to the hospital for a regular check up and the doc while doing internal examination observed that I had mild contractions which I was not aware of..Due to my over all health condition and also that I crossed 36 weeks, they admitted me in the hospital for delivery. It was an induced labour, it was TOUGHEST.
The team of nurses would do a series of internal examination and pains like hell but wait...I had my life saviour..yeah .. breathing exercise..and I sailed through the pain..They started inducing at 6PM.
Almost 15 times I was internal examined, the doctor broke my water bag and they gave me the big round ball for ball exercise and my husband was there throughout helping me with all sorts of exercises, I shifted between squats ,ball and butterfly and as the pain mounted ,I was taken to the labour ward at 12AM .I was totally exhausted .I pushed 3 times and the third one was the hardest and thatz when I thought this is going to be my last breath and screamed Sorry and I took my breath to give breath to my life at 12.39 AM.. It was a normal delivery :) ..I couldn't believe I did it.
Yeah, I joined the league of mommies and Thanks to my DD who co-operated and fought as much as I did and came out as soon as she could :)
Thanks to all those who made this journey of mine a success..
