Doula experience and Birth story of Ms. Vidhya

I came to know about Amba's classes during our second trimester. We spoke to Amba and felt that it would be helpful to attend the classes. We ended up not only attending all her classes, but also hired her to be the Doula for my birth. And it was the best decision ever!!! Here goes my experience:

Dec 5.. The most precious day of my life!!!

The day before I went for term scan and the report stated that I have more AFI (25).. I was unable to practice the exercises and could hardly walk from 34 weeks and this was the reason.

Dec 5 - Around 3 am, I started feeling the water break and contractions. I called Amba and she advised me to go hospital immediately. We reached hospital by 4.30. I was 1 cm dilated and got admitted at 5.15 am. As I was leaking, Dr advised me not to walk. I was given synto and could feel the contractions getting stronger.. I was really blessed to have Amba as my Doula. She's such an amazing angel who could take off all the pain and helped me to go through the toughest phase! She arrived hospital by 10.30 am. I tried all the positions - on all fours, birth ball, squats to overcome the pain. She was supporting me with all her love throughout the day. Without her presence even for 10 mins, it was really difficult for me to cope up. NST was on from 5.30 am and there was no change in the heart rate of my little one.. It was stable throughout the day šŸ˜ She encouraged me that I'm doing really well and her words were truly inspiring at that time.. Around 1.30 pm, waters broke completely.. Contractions were really getting stronger and closer.. I was totally exhausted by 3 pm.. Around 4.30, I was 5 cm dilated but I had urge to push. .

Entered labor room around 5 pm.. It was raining heavily outside.. Though I had unbearable pain, I was happy inside that nature is welcoming my laddoo's arrival.. Before entering labor room, Amba's words gave me strength and confidence - A woman can realize her strength and potential only during the labor... How true!!! I'm a kind of person who faint even for an injection.. But it was not the real me.. I wasn't worried about the pain inside labor ward.. My entire focus was on the arrival of my baby.. Amba was encouraging me throughout the labor and I had my husband near me.. The room was full of positive energy and I delivered a cute little angel at 5.48 pm.. Though it seems to be 12+ hrs of labor, I was physically tired but was mentally strong and fresh.. Was able to achieve #DelayedCordClamping and again because of Amba šŸ˜šŸ˜Š.. #Breastfed my baby within 15 minutes..
