Hi Amba Maam

,
Anusha here, I attended your pregnancy classes in June 2019. I wanted to share with you my review of the class and my birth story.
Class Review: Before I joined the UTSAV, I had lot of stress and anxiety issues. Mainly due to the situations around me that triggered the fear of delivery. I didn’t know what nor how it was going to happen. Nor did I have an idea of what to do and what not to do when the baby comes. I was taught lots of exercises that made my body flexible, that helped for normal delivery. There were so many informations that was passed on, and I was able to believe it because it is from an authentic source and not just from google that has loads of positive and negative opinions for every single idea.
Birth Story-
My EDD was on 19th August 2019. I was admitted on July 31st evening after my weekly check-up that afternoon. I was told that I am already in labour as I’m 2.5cms dilated. I was asked if I had any pain during contractions. I did not have any notable pain as such, but felt lot of contractions during the last month. I thought those were Braxton Hicks contractions. So after I was admitted that evening I was pretty normal till 2nd morning. On 2nd I had only dilated to 3cms. I had gotten BP during the last 2 weeks due to which my doctor advised me to get admitted on 31st itself and not to wait until I get pain. She was scared if I might get fits. So my doctor said that they would give medicines for baby lung development and induce pain by noon so that I can deliver before night.
So, by 12pm on 2nd I was given enema and taken to the labour room. My husband had been out that morning and he came rushing to meet me inside the labour, thanks to the hospital policies that allowed the supporter inside. So he came in by around 1:30pm by when my water had been broken by the doc and I was under trips. After he came, pain medication was injected and I was made to sit in a birthing chair to help baby move down. Until 2pm I did not have much pain, seeing which the medication dosage was increased. Then I started getting pain soon enough frequently. I tried the breathing as much as possible and it helped. The different breathing techniques sure helped. Pain became unbearable and my BP was checked often. My BP has surged as I got more and more pain, it had reached 150 on the top. So doctor decided to give epidural as they don’t want my pressure to raise even more due to pain. By then I had dilated 5xms. So the epidural doctor was called and I was told that I would be given injection that would ease the pain temporarily. I was waiting for it, like badly! So the doctor had to come in about 20 mins which he did not, it got delayed for him to come and by then I started getting more and more contractions that stayed for long time. Slowly I started getting the feel to push which the doctors and sisters encouraged. I started pushing uncontrollably. I still did the breathing and tried not to shout, though I did a little. When I was checked, I had dialated 9cms by then. I was encouraged to push more and more when I get pain and the lightings were arranged. More sisters had gathered around saying “push push”. I did. Finally a doc said, one more push and you would deliver. That was a great encouragement and I pushed with all that I had left. Then I heard my husband saying “I saw the hair, push more” and I gave one damn push and the baby was out. It was a boy :) he came crying at 5:59 pm.
It’s one of the best thing that happened to me during my pregnancy that I got to join the class.
Overall I am very happy that I made the right choice to attend your sessions! Thanks for all the knowledge you shared. It helped a lot 😊 Will meet you soon with kutty!!!
