Dear friends.. I gave birth to baby girl on 27th Jan ... I would like to share my labour ward story here.
The previous day nite after 20 mins walk and 20 steps of duck walk, I went to pee... I found jelly like yellowish secretion in my panties. I guessed it must be mucus plug.. but I had no signs of pain. So I slept through the night and @ morning 7 am wen I rose from bed, I felt my water broke and it started to spill..
Suddenly I recalled wat Amba said in class... As soon as my water broke I rushed to hospital... exactly wen I stepped out the house I felt mild contractions...... n by the time I reached hospital I felt contractions for every five minutes......A senior nurse checked internally and pronounced its the Labour pain and cervix has dialate 2 cm already ... I got admitted by 7:30 am. I was taken to a room and they monitored baby's heartbeat... Soon cervix dialated to 5 then to 8.. I was taken to labour ward and I couldn't withstand the pain... I followed the breathing tips given by Amba.. which gave me some relaxation.. finally I got 2 peak pains.. at the first pain baby's head was half the way through the cervix and doctor insisted me to give a push holding the thighs at the next pain.. I was running out of energy.. literally had no stamina to give a push.. at this moment I felt hard in the pubic area.. I gave a push and a mid wife helped by pushing down the stomach and my baby girl came out safe by 9:13 am.
Since it was my first pregnancy.. I thought labour would be more severe and might last even for 12 hours... But Amba's prenatal exercises, yoga and breathing exercises helped to have short labour... I thank Amba for giving the knowledge on pregnancy and to cope with labour pain
